Navaratri just concluded in Vijayawada wonderfully, at the banks of Krishna river and in the presence of Marakata Raja Rajeshwari Devi. Many assumed this Navaratri would happen on a smaller scale, but everything happened like old times. Everyone was very happy. Many people joined the event and it went well without any confusions. You all must certainly see the Marakata Raja Rajeshwari temple. All Datta devotees must. It is a marvelous temple. The Mother talks to us. Swamiji set up such a moorti there. So many people from surrounding areas as well as Datta devotees participated in the event. I am also very happy. The Vijayawada devotees are very good people. They served diligently. The volunteers did a good job. Annadanam went well. Do not miss having Darshana of the temple. It is a simple temple, but the Mother is very powerful.

I wanted to see you all, that is why I am here on Facebook Live. But since I am here, I will of course speak a few words with you. It will not just be about our horse giving birth to a baby, or our donkeys being friendly with each other. You may wonder why I need more donkeys when I have you all. You do not listen to what I say, but these donkeys listen. We have miniature horses in the Ashram that gave birth. These horses are getting trained.

Sookti:
adānadoṣeṇa bhavet daridraḥ
daridra doṣeṇa karoti pāpaṃ
pāpādavaśyaṃ narakaṃ prayāti
punardaridraḥ punareva pāpī

This wonderful sookti is much needed today.
Man without a charitable nature becomes poor. Many do not have a charitable nature. Selfishly, they want everything for themselves. They will not even share with their own people. They would rather forget about the treasure or let it rot, but they will not share. Man must strengthen his charitable nature. The more you donate, the more you will get. The one without charitable nature becomes poor. Unable to suffer poverty, man commits sins - he lies, blames others and commits other sins and as a consequence goes to hell. Due to the fruit of his sinful deeds, he experiences many difficulties right in this birth and suffers from diseases in the next birth. Again, he is born poor in his next birth. Thus, taking birth and dying as a sinner, he is caught inextricably in this cycle of birth and death. Therefore, charity is the remedy for all difficulties. Difficulties, joys, comforts, the eight kinds of poverty always keep turning up and down like a cart’s wheel. The innocent who are unable to grasp this truth are elated when faced with successes and dejected with faced with difficulties. But the wise treat both equally.

Many in the world have a desire to do charity but are afraid they will become poor if they do so. It is only when you donate that you get more while also earning commensurate merit. The scriptures teach us that whatever object we donate, we get multiples of. People have respect, but no faith in this scriptural statement.

Wealth may be used in two ways - for either Dharmic deeds or to nurture one’s vices. The wealth used for dharmic deeds will multiply in due course, but the wealth used to nurture vices and wicked deeds will get destroyed completely and will destroy the bearer as well. Like water in a well – the more you draw form the well, the more the well oozes fresh water – wealth too multiplies when used for dharmic deeds. The water level may seem to recede slightly immediately upon drawing, but the water rises up soon. It is the same with wealth used for charity. One gets even more wealth after doing charity.
One suffering from poverty will lack discrimination. He cannot tell good from bad. His only goal is to earn money at all costs and he will commit sins to meet this goal. “patati narake asmaat”. This is the meaning sin. As a result of sin, man experiences living hell. Or, he will suffer in the regions of hell. Due to lack of merit, he will be born in a poor household and suffer again. In this manner, he will continue spinning in this maze of sin, poverty and hell. Constantly stuck in this whirlpool, he is deprived of happiness and bliss. Therefore, the wise must do charity and thus attain eternal fame and gain higher worlds.

It is said that all elders’ earnings of gems, diamonds etc. are only as good as stones. Diamonds and gems are kinds of stones too. Man buys them and puts these stones around the woman’s neck. The kings’ earnings are all as good as stones too. They have no greater benefit than decorating their women. Or, they are spent on vices like gambling and alcohol.
This is such a wonderful sookti !

Everyone must learn to do charity. It protects us from difficulties.

Koti Datta Homa is planned in Ganagapura from Dec 2-9. Ganagapura will have lakhs of people at that time so get your accommodation as soon as possible. We will do a Saptaham there from December 2 to December 9. I wish to do Abhishekam for Datta. It is the place for Narasimha Saraswati. Tell everyone about it. I had initially said that only those who toured all Datta Kshetras attend, but since we are meeting there prior to Datta Jayanti, everyone may attend. Datta Jayanti in Ganagapur stands canceled.
