Pujya Sri Swamiji arrived in Vijayawada from Kurukstera on 29 December 2016. In the evening, Sri Swamiji was warmled welcomed with garlands.
On 30th evening, Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja in the evening. Later a grand welcome function was held in the Ashrama prayer hall. Several diginitories & officials offered garlands to Pujya Sri Swamiji and welcomed Him to Vijayawada.
On 31st evening, Vijayawada Ashrama Bhajan Mandali sang some Shlokas from Bhagavad Gita and Bhajans.
On 1st January 2017, Pujya Sri Swamiji sat on a decorated stage and gave Darshana to more than 40,000 people from 6 AM to 2 PM. Continous streams of devotees wanted auspicious Darshana and thereby a auspicious beginning to 2017.
Annadanam was perfomred for all visitors.
In the evening, Sri Swamiji led mass chanting of Hanuman Chalisa 9 times. The Ashrama was packed with devotees waving Hanuman flags.
Later, Indian Posts, department of Posts released a "first day cover" of Vijayawada Ashrama's 40th anniversary year.
Department of posts also released a series of birds titled "Exotic Birds". featuring six exotic birds from Shukavana bird refuge center in Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysore. Pujya Sri Swamiji was very happy to learn about it and received one set of stamps from the Chief Post Master General, Andhra Pradesh circle.
