6th Sampoorna Bhagavad Gita Parayana - Kurukshetra 2017

Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji led a very successful 6th Sampoorna Bhagavad Gita Parayana program in Kurukshetra on 28 October 2017. 44 children of Datta devotees from across India who had memorised entire Bhagavadgita sanwith g for three hours in Meditation hall on Brahma Sarovar in the sacred Kurukshetra town in Haryana state in North India. 

Pujya Sri Swamiji travelled with the children from Bengaluru to Delhi and then to Kurukshetra. 

 

On 28 October morning, Sri Swamiji arrived at the meditation hall, the chanting venue at 9.30 AM. He was received by Sri.Kamal Kapur and other devotees. The stage was set with 44 children sitting in four rows dressed in blue silk and silk embroidery. Sri Swamiji lit the inaugural lamp and spoke and blessed the children for their efforts. 

 

After the Prarthana Shlokas, the chanting effortlessly continued up to 9th chapter. Hundreds of Datta devotees who had come as pilgrims to Kurukshetra too joined the chanting with the aid of book. 

After a small break, the rest of Gita’s 9 chapters were chanted. Sri Swamiji showered flowers on kids. Gita Mahatmya from Varaha Purana was chanted. The session ended with singing of Gitaa Saara - composed by Pujya Sri Swamiji. The 18 stanzas of Gitaa Saara conveys the summary meaning of each chapter of Bhagavad Gita. 

 

Dr.Lalit & Nandi Duggal offered mementos to all children who chanted. Sri Swamiji blessed a memento to Dr.P.V.Nath and Smt.Satyavati Nath from New Castle, UK. He holds annual Bhagavad Gita conferences across the world. He also has translated Pujya Sri Swamiji’s life history from Telugu to English. He has also penned the book “Tat Tvam Asi” - a book on Bhagavad Gita. 

 

In the evening, the children sang Bhajans. Pujya Sri Swamiji sat on stage while devotees offered Karthika Deepa. Sri Swamiji spoke about minor changes in habits which can bring much positive energy. His speech was laced with humor. 

 

On 29th, Sri Swamiji visited Brahma Sarovar and offered Pujas to the lake. Two chapters of Bhagavad Gita Shlokas were chanted by children.  Sri Swamiji sprinkled water on the devotees who sat on the Ghat steps. 

Later Sri Swamiji and devotees travelled to Jyotisar, the exact location where Lord Krishna preached Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna and removed his ignorance. 

Children chanted two chapters while Sri Swamiji sat under the ancient banyan tree. Sri Swamiji spoke and explained the importance of the Jyotisar and the Jyotisar lake. 

In the afternoon Pujya Sri Swamiji and devotees visited “Sri Krishna Museum” which houses Krishna related artifacts from across the states of India. The immensely large collection reflects the handicrafts tradition of India. 

In the evening. Children chanted Bhagavad Gita Shlokas in the “Gita Research Center Hall” in Jairam Vidya Peeth, the Ashrama where Sri Swamiji and the children were camping. 

Swami Brahmachari ji, the head of Jairam Vidya Peeth graced the occasion. He was greatly pleased with the enthusiasm of Sri Swamiji and the eagerness of kids to learn Bhagavad Gita. He liked the kids as Arjunas and Sri Swamiji and Lord Sri Krishna. He said “Sri Swamiji is carefully nurturing a nursery of great souls who will grow as strong trees one day. They are the true representatives of our Hindu culture - he said. He requested Sri Swamiji to come every year to Jairam Vidya Peeth and treat the institution as his own. 

Sri Swamiji honored Brahmachari ji with a Peethambara. 

 

Sri Swamiji later blessed the 44 students with Anna Prasadam from his sacred hands. 

 

Thus concluded a wonderful and ever-memorable 6th Sampoorna Bhagavad Gita Parayana. 

 

The first Parayna was in August 2016 at Karya Siddhi Hanuman temple, Dallas by USA Tataji Sena

The second Parayana was by Indian Tataji Sena kids during Datta Jayanti at Datta Peetham in December 2016

The third Parayana was during Christmas of 2016 by US Tataji Sena kids in Nada Mantapa, Datta Peetham. 

The fourth Parayana was by US Tataji Sena in Kurukshetra in December 2016. 

The fifth Parayana was by US Tataji Sena in Nada Mantapa in June 2017.
