Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji visited Nepal from 3rd to 7th April 2018.
Pujya Sri Swamiji arrived in Kathmandu on the evening of 3rd. Over 50 devotees flew with Pujya Sri Swamiji from Bengaluru to Kathmandu. There, over hundred devotees had travelled by road, rail and air to reach Nepal and journey with His Holiness.
On 4th morning, Pujya Sri Swamiji visited Budhanilkanth temple in Kathmandu. This temple is also known as Jaya Narayan temple. The temple is a big water pond in which a beautiful large idol of Vishnu is floating in the water.
Sri Swamiji was received by the resident Swamiji of the temple.
Veda students of the temple recited Veda Mantras and led Pujya Sri Swamiji to the pond. Sri Swamiji was explained the history of the temple. Sri Swamiji offered garlands and Akshatas to the Vishnu Padas which are kept on the steps of the pond. Accompanying devotees sang Vishnu Bhajans composed by Pujya Swamiji. Young priests who are under the age of eight walk on the Vishnu Murti and offer flowers to Vishnu Murti. Sri Swamiji also witnessed the beautiful reflection of the Vishnu murti in the still waters of the pond. Datta devotees came in a queue and had Darshana of Budanilkanth and Pujya Swamiji. Later, Sri Swamiji visited Ganapathy shrine in the same complex and fed pigeons in the temple area.
In the evening, Pujya Swamiji visited the 144 feet tall Kailasnath Mahadev Shiva statue in Sanga village near Kathmandu. The tall copper colored Shiva statue is situated on a hill overlooking Kathmandu town. Sri.Kamal Jain, the builder of this Shiva statue received Pujya Sri Swamiji and devotees. Pujya Swamiji admired the construction of this tall Shiva statue. Though, it was drizzling, Pujya Sri Swamiji went to the small shrine of Lord Shiva at the base of the statue and offered Puja & Arati. Sri.Kailas Jain had received a WhatsApp forward of the 3D projection mapping of Hanuman ji at Mysuru Ashrama and was intrigued by the concept and travelled to Mysuru Ashrama some months back. He was awe inspired to see the technology of Hanuman Chalisa being projected on Hanuman statue. Though he could not get Darshana of Sri Swamiji in Mysuru Ashrama, he had a warm feeling that Sri Swamiji would bless him. He could not believe that Sri Swamiji was visiting the temple built by him in Nepal in just a few months of that honest prayer for Darshana.
On 5th morning, Pujya Sri Swamiji went to Kala Patthar a notable landmark in the high Himalayas which has stunning view of Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world.
Sri Swamiji’s helicopter took off from Kathmandu and travelled 45 minutes to Lukla airport which is termed as among the the most dangerous airports in the world. There, the helicopter’s weight was lightened by removing excessive fuel. From there, Pujya Swamiji flew to 15 minutes to Kala Patthar, a well known landmark in the Everest Himalayas. The helicopter landed on a grassy knoll and allowed Pujya Swamiji to disembark and offer prayers to Lord Shiva. Pujya Swamiji chanted Shiva Stotras while looking at Mount Everest, Mount Nuptse & Mount Changtse - the triad of high massifs which dominate the panoramic region of Himalayan mountains. Pujya Swamiji returned to Lukla airport and after the helicopter was refueled, returned to Kathmandu by noon.
On 6th morning, Pujya Sri Swamiji visited the famous Pashupatinatha Shiva temple in Kathmandu along with devotees who sang Shiva Bhajans composed by Pujya Swamiji as he walked in to the main shrine. Pujya Swamiji was received by officials of Pashupati Area Development Trust. Pujya Swamiji witnessed the Puja to the Aghora (south side) face of the four faced Shiva Lingam. Pujya Sri Swamiji was given Puja Prasadam. Pujya Swamiji took Darshana of all four Shiva faces. South, East, North & West.
Thereafter, Sri Swamiji fed pigeons in the temple area.
Later many prominent Nepalese visited Pujya Sri Swamiji and requested for a Healing music concert from Pujya Swamiji to bless their country.
In the evening, a public Darshana program was arranged in Lainchaur hall. Pujya Swamiji gave Darshana to visiting Indian devotees and Nepal devotees. Pujya Sri Swamiji spoke about his earlier visits to Nepal and blessed every family with a small wooden model of the Pashupatinath Temple.
Annadanam was arranged for all.
Pujya Sri Swamiji returned Kathmandu to Mysore Ashrama on the late evening of 7th April 2018.
