International Day of Yoga Celebrations 

From 06:30 PM  to 08:00 PM on21st June, 2020 (Sunday)
 Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysuru

  1. As 21st June was solar eclipse (Surya Grahana day from 10.30 AM to 2 PM), the event began at 6.30 PM after Sri Chakra Puja  by Pujya Sri Swamiji and Sri Balaswamiji. Due to the Covid-19 quarantine situation, the event was restricted to Ashrama inmates. The program was telecast live on Datta Kriya Yoga Facebook page. Thousands witnessed the event online.
     The International Day of Yoga celebrations began with lighting the lamp by Pujya Sri Ganapathy Schchidananda Swamiji and Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji along with Ashrama Prayers sung by Datta Kriya Yoga Students.
  2. Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji’s gave a Key note discourse. (see below)
  3. Srichitta Balroop submitted few of the feedbacks from Datta Kriya Yoga practitioners
    all over the world to Pujya Sri Sadgurudeva.
  4. Ashrama Veda Pathashala students and Ashrama Children excellently demonstrated
    Yogasanas in the presence of Sadgurudeva.
  5. DKY Upadhyayas Dr. Shiva and Chakradhar made the participants to practice Datta
    Kriya Yoga techniques like Asanas and Pranayamas.
  6. Parama Pujya Sri Sadgurudeva blessed all participants with “Mauna” (Silence).
  7. This event concluded with Pledge, Shanti Mantram and vote of thanks.

Today, we are all celebrating International yoga day in the presence of Pujya Sri Swamiji. Pujya Sri Swamiji is teaching Datta Kriya Yoga since 50 years. Since then, Datta Kriya Yoga gradually reached all the devotees. We have 190 Datta Kriya Yoga teachers all over the world. We are very happy to say that. And about 25 teachers are in Mysore City. By teaching “Datta Kriya Yoga”, they are serving Sri Swamiji’s mission. Today, we are unable to celebrate International Yoga Day in big scale as we normally did. Appaji likes Datta Kriya Yoga a lot! Every year we 

celebrate in Nada Mantapa. Many school children participate in Datta Kriya Yoga, International Yoga Day, and children from AIISH (All India Institute of Speech and Hearing), they also participate in International Yoga Day Conference every year, but this year we had a Solar Eclipse this morning. That is the reason we are celebrating in the evening today. To unite is Yoga! Keeping this in mind, our Datta Kriya Yoga teachers during this COVID-19 corona period, they are conducting online Datta Kriya Yoga classes and many students have participated and many times Appaji also mentioned that whoever practices Kriya Yoga they are able to win the tough period of corona. Yoga is not only for physical health but also for mental health. To 

balance our thoughts, to balance our actions, we need to practice Datta Kriya Yoga. Normally whenever we hear about yoga we are afraid of Vedanta (Indian philosophy) or big lectures. Appaji made it very clear and very simple. Datta Kriya Yoga is very simple. From 5 years of age, no age limit anyone can learn, anyone can practice Datta Kriya Yoga. We have simple asanas, we have Kumara Kriya Yoga, for students, for teenagers, and for youngsters, Nadi Shuddhi Vyayamas, Nadi Shuddhi Pranayama and then A Group, B Group, C Group, D Group, we have Asanas(postures). If you are interested, you can learn all the Asanas. Or if you want to practice Pranayama, there are simple Pranayamas, as Appaji taught all the students and teachers of Datta Kriya Yoga. Pranayama, you can practice, asanas you can take from Datta Kriya Yoga and simple life leading lessons from Datta Kriya Yoga and whenever we face these type of situations, how to win over these situations, these are all taught in Datta Kriya Yoga. Our teachers Gopalakrishna garu, Raja Rao garu in Hyderabad, and Shiva, Chakradhar, Devi, these teachers are doing wonderful job and we have a very young Datta Kriya Yoga teacher, she is just 82 years, she is very young! Everyone is surprised. When they see her they ask, how she 

managed, she says this is because of Datta Kriya Yoga! It gives you good strength to your body, to your mind, to your thoughts. Everyone in Ashrama and all the Datta devotees should practice Datta Kriya Yoga! Then only we can say, yes!! we are Datta Devotees, we are Appaji devotees. It should be our regular sadhana. Datta Kriya Yoga should be our regular Sadhana. To Balance is yoga! It teaches us how to balance so please do practice Datta Kriya Yoga and I Pray Pujya Sri Swamiji to bless all the devotees. And today in New Zealand, Datta Kriya Yoga center, they are performing 108 Surya Namaskaras. How wonderful it is to hear! They have been practicing this since past 4-5 months. And today they are able to do 108 Surya Namaskaras in 30-40 minutes. They play Sri Swamiji’s music and according to Sri Swamiji’s music, they do Surya Namaskaras. 12 Surya Namaskaras a day gives wonderful results. It keeps us healthy. So, all the children please do practice Surya Namaskara, pranayama, Pranayama and yoga asanas. In many countries they are practicing Datta Kriya Yoga, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, America, London, everywhere they are practicing Datta Kriya Yoga today and regularly. Our JDRC (Jesus Datta Retreat Centre) ashrama also giving wonderful service in propagating Datta Kriya Yoga. I pray
