Dedicated to Maaya Mukta Avadhoota Dattatreya, this temple is one of the sixteen Datta Kshetras. Panchamukha Ganapati, Bala Dattatreya, Yogi Dakshinamurthy, Naga Devata, Ashta Lakshmis, Atri and Anasuya are also consecrated.

 

A stone temple housing 32 Ganapatis, a Stupa, and a unique Meditation Hall are adjuncts. Datta Padukas are on top of the adjoining hill, Datta Giri, near the Subrahmanya Temple.

 

Sri Padavallabha begged for food during the ritual worship. Made to wait, he had his dog chant the Vedas. The shocked priests fell at Datta's feet, praying for relief from their ignorance.
