His Holiness Sri Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji of Mysore, one of the greatest spiritual leaders of the present day is an asset to India and the world at large. Sri Swamiji has consecrated 16 Datta Shrines - Shodasha Datta Kshetras representing the sixteen manifestations of Lord Datta in different parts of India.

 

Chennai Ashram, one of the 16 Datta Kshetras, is the abode of Sri Aadi Guru Dattatreya Swami installed on 10th July, 1989. The Ashram established in 1974 in Mylapore, shifted to Velachery in 1985 where Sri Swamiji has consecrated Adi Guru Dattatreya, Karya Siddhi Hanuman, the Navagrahas, and Sri Rajarajeshwari. In 1990, the first "Music for Meditation and Healing session" of India was conducted by Sri Swamiji here. 'Sachchidananda Hall' hosts the annual 'Keertanotsavam' with Sri Swamiji's compositions rendered by noted musicians, along with interschool bhajan competitions. Satsangs, Ganapathy Homa, and Annadanam occur every Sunday and during major festivals. As part of the social service activities, free medical camps are conducted regularly for the needy.
