To protect the area of Manginapudi (Tallapalem) near Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, from severe cyclones and strong tidal waves, at the seaside temple of Lord Nagareswara, Sri Swamiji consecrated Lord Dattatreya in 1991.
He had twelve wells dug. Each has healing waters of different constituents. A bath at these medicinal wells destroys sins. Hence the name 'Datta Rameswaram'.
The wells are named, Audumbara, Amalaka, Nirvindhya, Padma, Sarva, Unmochana, Pampa, Mata Jayalakshmi, Narahari, Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda, Sri Datta, and Anagha.
